Creating the photobucket slideshow was a great experience. It taught me more about photobucket. It also helped me to better understand the elements and principles of art. I also learned a lot about dropbox and uploading my digital photos. I had a few problems with photobucket freezing on me which became a bit annoying. Overall though the project taught me a lot.
Hi Gina,
ReplyDeleteYour photos were fantastic! I related to many of the photographs, especially those that involved a nature element since many of my own used the same setting. I knew exactly (I think) what the repetition picture was about since I drove down and cheered on my little sister as she competed in the Dirty Girl Mud Run as well. All the various textures you captured the texture image were great as well. Intentional or not, having children of my own I loved seeing a tiny hand sneak into the frame as well (in the bottom right corner). My son is also a very blonde haired little man and seeing the way you captured both the proportion principle and innocent pondering of a child together made for a captivating photo. You final photo involving pattern reminded me of an artist I just discussed in module six discussion post (Dale Chihuly). If you get a chance I would love to know the material behind that picture.
I'm sure your aware of this but your slideshow doesn't appear in your blog, there is just a link to it. I myself did the same thing at first because I could not get it to work, but if you go to the help me section of our class I posted step by step instructions that worked for me to finally get it linked together properly. Hopefully that will help you for that project or if nothing else figuring it all out with that project will help you when we have to do the same thing again for a future module assignment.

I chose to comment on your projects because of the effort I see. There were a few in the class that clearly weren't passionate about doing these, so I picked you. :) These photographs are awesome at explaining the words described. I LOVED how you portrayed rhythm. It is a very hard word to depict through a photo, and a lot of people don't quite understand it. The definition said, that it makes the eyes wander around the picture to try and see everything thats going on. Not only are there hot tubs, water falling, plants, but there are stairs in the background that I thought added a cool touch to 'wonder' in this picture. Texture, you used the lemurs from the Buffalo Zoo, I only know this because when I went there over the summer, I sat there and stared at these things forever and kept thinking how much I wanted to pet/squeeze them, so a perfect depiction of texture. Your image for unity looks really cool...a guy sitting on a couch infront of curtains with some weird background behind that. I like the picture but would like to know more about it, and your reason for why it shows unity. And my last comment is about your image for pattern. I want to know what it is! I think it could have been used for movement actually also. Great job on these pictures!

Your ideas for the elements and principles are very unique and relate so well with the photos. I believe you did a great job capturing the true meaning of this assignment. Your photos made me realize that the concept of an element or design may be different to other people. The variety in your photos helped me to see beyond the definition and focus on the whole picture. Great job!
